Bushes Farm Caravan Park
Bushes Farm Stourpaine was our destination on 29th April for our first camp of the season. It was a beautiful day, the birds were singing heartily and our campsite was next to a huge yellow carpet field of Rape flowers.
Ten units met together and we started the weekend with coffee in Andy and Teresa’s huge tent. They were our stewards for the weekend together with 3 year old Aiden’s help.
The sun shone all day on Saturday. We had a free day which was mainly spent relaxing and chatting. In the evening we ate at a local social club and then enjoyed a competitive game of skittles. The hall had two alleys which enabled us to have two games running together. It was a very enjoyable evening organised by our stewards who, strangely, won both games! Maybe their youth and ability to bowl in a straight line brought their high scores!
We were made very welcome at Blandford Methodist on Sunday morning. They were delighted that we doubled their congregation. Unfortunately the weather changed and we had a wet day but most people enjoyed Sunday lunch off site which lasted well into the afternoon.
On Monday morning Philip led us on a walk through the local woods. Pat is awaiting a knee operation so stayed on site to have coffee ready for our return. We had a birthday girl among us and a delicious cake was provided as a celebration.
Sadly, all too soon, the camp closed and we headed home delighted that camping is back to normal after our Covid years.
