SUNDAY 22nd September 10.30 a.m. Methodist Church service Bagwell Farm is located in beautiful countryside next to the World Heritage “Jurassic Coast”. It’s just off the B3157 out of Weymouth and a great base to explore all Dorset has to offer. As it's a short weekend break we have left the schedule fairly clear so you can make the most of your time in this area. DIRECTIONS:Bagwell Farm Touring Park
Knights in the Bottom Chickerell Weymouth DT3 4EA Bagwell Farm is off the B3157 West of Weymouth, between Chickerell and Portesham. Approach via the A354 from Dorchester to Weymouth. From the outskirts of Weymouth follow signs for Abbotsbury, Weymouth and the B3157. Bagwell is a mile past Chickerell on the left at the top of the hill after “The Victoria Inn”. Sat Nav users, beware, many systems do not use tow-friendly routes from Dorchester to Bagwell. To avoid getting into a scrape or tight-squeeze we recommend you use conventional maps to plan your journey from Dorchester onwards. Sat Nav may also indicate that you have reached your destination on arrival at the edge of our postcode area. You may need to keep going for half a mile or so until you see us. |
Final Camp of 2013
The Camping Club spent its final meeting
of the season from September 20th to 22nd at Bagwell Farm, a campsite in
Chickerell with magnificent views over Chesil Beach. A total of nine families attended, including
our long standing members Bert and Val who travel across from Kent each year to
join us at one of our camps. Once again
we enjoyed the fine weather which has been a feature of all of our camps this
summer. The highlights were the communal
get together for a meal at the campsite's Red Barn Restaurant, noted for its
menu mainly utilising the farm's top quality, home produced beef and the visit
to the Harvest Festival Service at Chickerell Methodist Church on the
Sunday. Some members also visited the
Kingfisher Watch which was taking place over the weekend at the nearby Radipole
Nature Reserve, sadly without a sighting.
DETAILS:The cost is £13.50 per night for Van/Tent to include electrics. This price will drop to £13 if we have 10 units or more attending.
