Steward's Report
We arrived in pouring rain very early on Friday morning after spending the night in a lay-by. By the time every-one else arrived it was fine, although we had several heavy showers during the day. Later on in the evening everyone came to our awning for coffee, wine and biscuits, to discuss the programme for the week. The BBQ on Saturday evening, was changed to some of us cooking, meat and potatoes in our ovens, and tables,& chairs bought into the awning to make sure we could all get in, when all was organized the salads were put out, it was a bit squashed but Harry, Edward, & Jessica came inside with Barrie & myself, this was followed by a Beetle Drive which was enjoyable. On Sunday morning we went to Church at Bovey Tracey Methodist church, on arrival we found that there was going to be 70 Boys Brigade as well so this raised the congregation quite a bit, afterwards most of us went out for Sunday Lunch in Bovey Tracey. Monday was a free day for all, but at 5 o’clock we had a Cream Tea followed by a Boules Match. During the rest of the week we all did our own thing, but in the evenings several of us got together for a chat, play dominoes, and some even watched TV. On Wednesday evening we all had a Fish & Chip Supper, again it was quite chilly so we all squeezed into our awning but it was good that we could all be together. Soon it was Friday and some had to go home, but those that stayed on to the Saturday went out for a meal which finished off a good weeks camping. Pat & Barrie |
